For as long as I can remember, I have loved to read. I have always gobbled up books, usually three or four of them a week, and since high school, (which wasn’t that long ago since I’m only 22) I have accumulated a book collection of almost 2000 books in every genre imaginable. When I picked up my first two romance novels, Jill Shalvis’ CHARMED AND DANGEROUS” and Nora Roberts’ CARNAL INNOCENCE, I fell in love with the romance genre. It was in my Junior year that I decided to try and write my first novel, but alas the life of a teen is so dramatic, the writing fell on the back burner.
Then three years ago, on a beautiful summer day, the itch to write returned and this time I couldn’t let it go. That’s not to say it hasn’t, at times, fallen on the back burner, because let’s face it, life DOES get in the way, but I haven’t stopped writing, and the ideas continue to come to me through various sources. Simple things like songs or TV shows or just a quote someone says can trigger and idea for a story.
Like all authors I work hard at creating a story that is satisfying and fulfilling for the reader, my blood, sweat, and tears go into every manuscript I write so that it can be the best it can be. I am currently working on the first of three round of edits for my manuscript To Catch a Thief and the rough draft of another. Who knows? Maybe you’ll see my book on shelves one day. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Now, that you’ve heard the story of how I came to write, a little about me! I am 21 years old living in wonderful SoCal. I’m a SoCal girl through and through, I LOVE the beach and tanning and the heat. I don’t do cold. Well, unless of course the boyfriend is there to cuddle with me and keep me warm.
The boyfriend and I live together and have been together for three years, and let me just say how crazy those three years have been and how fast the time has gone. BUT, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I am a fresh college graduate with a BSBA in accounting and will be taking the CPA exam next year so that I can become licensed. Currently, I work full time as the bookkeeper/ HR Manager/ and CEO’s assistant for six interrelated companies and this has been the job I’ve known and loved for almost four years now. I attended college full time online while working full time simultaneously. It was very difficult at times and I’m not even sure how I managed to find the time to write, but I did. Now, I plan on staying at my current job and pursue both my writing career and my CPA license at the same time.
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to get to know me.
Until next time,
Kaycee Kacer
